Science Fair projects

OK, so every year we get the assignment, and every year we have a hard time thinking of a good project. We prefer the less labor intensive and the more fun projects. So this year Londen's question is "Does color affect mood?" and the hypothesis was "yes color affects mood". So Londen asked his class to help by telling him how they felt about each color. We simplified this by holding up a sheet of colored paper and having them answer "1" if it gave them a good feeling, "2" if they weren't sure how it made them feel, or "3" if it gave them a bad feeling. So it turned out to be a nice looking project. We learned that color does indeed affect mood, but also that different colors affect girls differently than boys. We could have done a bunch of other stuff but we didn't take the time to do it. So it is what it is. It looks good. Will it win any awards? probably not, Will he get a good grade? probably.

Kelani will be doing her first science fair project this year. Her question is "Which is cleaner, snow or tap water? Hypothesis: tap water. Mom (Grandma)has a water tester that tests particles in the water, so we will melt snow and test it, and of course tap water. We shall see what happens. It's a simple project, but we have little time and littler attention span(mom ends up doing most of the work anyway).

So that's our Science fair plan this year. Simple, easy and at least done.

very interesting projects - I'm just glad we aren't to the project stage yet, cause I'M not ready to start doing them yet!
