Hemolitic Strep

A boy in our ward died this week. He was 17, he was such a good boy. His mom told me that he had had a sore throat and a little cold. He had been to the doc and he seemed fine. He woke up last Saturday in respiratory distress and died shortly after. They said it was hemolitic strep, it got in his blood stream. There was nothing they could have done. The news was shocking and unsettling. He was such an amazing kid. He was an eagle scout, he played the bassoon amazingly, he played the piano, he fenced, he was in high school and had enough college credit to be a sophomore. He was just the example of a great kid. I guess he was needed more on the other side. I personally can't imagine losing a child ever. So hold your kids a little closer, love them a little more, and hug them a little longer because you just never know. I pray his parents will have the strength they need to get through this time. He was the youngest of 4.

Julie,

I was so sorry to hear about the loss. There are no words that can comfort and the only thing that I know is that God is bigger than the grief and sorrow. He is there with you and the family sharing the pain but more importantly spreading comfort as only He can.

Love,
Tera
