Spaghetti Sauce

So the other night I had a friend over and I was heating up some spaghetti sauce for her in the microwave. I went to take it out and the handle on the nuker broke just as I was taking the bowl of sauce out and I lost my grip on it, it fell on the stove and splat - spaghetti sauce every where all over the floor and me. My friend said "well what did you do that for?" and I responded with "yeah I did it on purpose!!!" I was not happy at the time. I later invisioned the situation from another perspective and had a good laugh. Good times!! I am sure that the stains will not be coming out of my WHITE sweat shirt.

Resolution...

So every year I see the new year as a new start, I think most people do. I think about the things in my life I would like to change. Of course I want to make some changes for the better and hope that if I set a goal to make a change it will be a permanent thing. So when I think back to my goals from last year I wonder, did I reach my goals? if not did I make any progress what so ever? I wanted to lose some weight last year, did I? Yes I did, did I gain it all back? Yes I did. So do I make the same goal this year? I guess I can't give up, I still need to lose wieght. Now it occured to me that it may sound like I am setting a goal just because it's the beginning of a new year - no no, it's just a good time to reflect and think about new beginnings. I don't like to set too many goals because I don't want to feel like too much of a failure if I don't accomplish them. So there it is, I set goals in hopes of becoming a better person or improving my life in some way. Even if I don't make a permanant change at least I will make some change and improve some small part of my life for even a small moment in time.
So my goals for this year include:
1 - Eat better and exercise
2 - Keep up with the house work
3 - Be a more patient mom
4 - Be a better wife
5 - Get back in the habit of going to church

The spirit of Christmas

It's cool how Christmas day always makes me feel somewhat emotional. I'm not sure if it's the fact that it is the celebration of the birth of our Savior or just being surrounded by the people I love (probably both) - I get a little tearful and my heart feels as if it will burst because I love everyone so much. I love to give gifts to my kids and try to show them how much I really do love them. They are my life and my purpose and I can't imagine my life without them. I am so grateful for all the people in my life. I am who I am because of them. I have learned so much about life and love due to the influence of the people around me. So thankyou to all of my people, you know who you are, My life is better because I know you.

Fa la la la la - la la la la

I love to sing and this is my favorite month to do it. I'll be singing in church two weeks in a row with 2 different quartets I'll be the one squeeking out the high notes - that should be interesting. I really want to go caroling. Like the did in the old days but my husband is kind of a
Humbug- not to mension he sings really well off key. One of these days I'll get some neighbors together and go caroling.
It snowed finally. The grass was still green till this week - wow. I love snow much more now that I'm a skier - not a great one mind you but I can get down the hill. And I enjoy my self, and it is so peaceful. I love those days when the ski resort is not too busy and the sun is out it's quiet and calm - that is some good soul food.
My kids are spoiled - they are going to have an awesome Christmas. Londen peaked this year for the first time. I figure his consiquence is not being surprised. What else can I do, I'm not one of those parents who takes the stuff back I can't do it. He felt really bad and he still has to wait. He will be getting a big Lego set that he requested, and several video games. Kelani is getting the cutest doll, a new scooter, a little tykes color copier, and a bunch of little things. The family gift is rock band, that will be fun.

Here we go again...

So every year I say I'm going to get my shopping done early, and every year I end up waiting till the last minute, well I am pleased to announce that this year I have been able to get most of it done before thanksgiving!!! Yay I'm so excited to be able to avoid walmart till Christmas is over. I still have a few more things to buy but I'll be doing that during the day and trying to avoid the crowds.
My husband has come to hate the holidays, I know it's stressful and all but I love giving the kids a good Christmas it is one of those things I just have to do, it's important to me. I do try to avoid shopping with my husband because he gets so grumpy. I however enjoy shopping more and more. So if you are finished shopping congrats, if you're not, well good luck!
